Vice President Xia Jie of All-China Women's Federation Attends Women Leaders Global Forum in Iceland

From November 26 to 28, All-China Women's Federation delegation led by Vice President Xia Jie attended Women Leaders Global Forum in Reykjavik. The forum was co-hosted by Icelandic government, parliament and Women Political Leaders Global Forum(WPL) and will take place in Iceland for four years annually. The first forum focused on the digital revolution in contemporary time and its influence over men and women in decision making. More than 400 representatives from governments, business, academies and organizations of more than 100 countries attended the forum. President Guðni Th. Johannesson, Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Speaker of Althingi Mr. Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson of Iceland, and leaders from Spain, Romania, Malta, Rwanda, Liberia and international organizations attended the forum and delivered the speeches.

During the forum, Vice President Xia Jie attended the Reykjavik Summit, thematic discussions and other activities, during which she exchanged views and contacts with women leaders from various areas worldwide. On November 28, All-China Women's Federation and the Chinese Embassy in Iceland co-hosted the breakfast meeting of the forum. More than 100 representatives from several dozens of countries attended the event. With Ambassador Jin Zhijian presiding the event, Vice President Xia Jie and WPL President Silvana Koch-Mehrin delivered the speech.

Vice President Xia Jie also paid a visit to Mr. Ásmundur Einar Daðason, Minister of Social Affairs and Equality of Iceland. The two sides exchanged views on further cooperation of promoting gender equality and women's development.
