Minister for General Administration of Customs of China Ni Yuefeng Visits Iceland

At the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland Mr. Gudlaugur Thór Thórdarson, Minister for General Administration of Customs of China Mr. Ni Yuefeng visited Iceland from 23rd to 25th May.

During his visit, Minister Ni met the President of Iceland H. E. Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, and had meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Gudlaugur Thór Thórdarson, Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture Mr. Kristján Þór Júlíusson, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Finance Mr. Guðmundur Árnason, Deputy Director-General for Customs Ms. Karen Bragadóttir respectively. The two sides conducted in-depth conversation and wide-ranging consensus was reached on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the customs field, propelling trade facilitation, and promoting bilateral practical cooperation. Ministers Ni and Thórdarson jointly signed bilateral cooperation documents such as MOU on Import and Export of Farmed Fish Products, MOUs on Fish Oil and Meal, Greasy Wool to be exported from Iceland to China and so on.The delegation also visited local farms, salmon breeding and other enterprises, and attended a briefing by Icelandic Fisheries Association on fisheries enterprises and products.

Chinese ambassador to Iceland Mr. Jin Zhijian and Icelandic ambassador to China Mr. Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson attended the above-mentioned activities.
