All-China Women's Federation and The Chinese Embassy in Iceland Co-host Breakfast Meeting of Women Leaders Global Forum

Women Leaders Global Forum, co-hosted by Icelandic government, parliament and Women Political Leaders Global Forum(WPL), took place from November 26 to 28 in Reykjavik. On November 28, All-China Women's Federation and the Chinese Embassy in Iceland co-hosted the breakfast meeting of the forum. More than 100 representatives from around 20 countries attended the event. With Ambassador Jin Zhijian presiding the event, Vice President Xia Jie of All-China Women's Federation and WPL President Silvana Koch-Mehrin delivered the speech.

Vice President Xia Jie briefed the audience with China's policy, actions and achievements in gender equality and women's all-round development. She expressed that China was willing to work with Iceland and the rest of the world to further promote gender equality and to create a community of shared future for mankind.

President Mehrin spoke highly of the speech delivered by the Chinese President Xi Jinping in the 26th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Papua New Guinea on 17th November. She recalled that President Xi said in the summit that we have come together on this ship to chart the course for future development and cooperation, and this line would also apply to women's development and cooperation. She encouraged the world to learn from China on its experience in promoting women's development, and work together with China to promote gender equality.


The speeches were followed by a video on the achievements of women's development in China, which triggered great interests of the audience and their positive remarks.
