On April 16, Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian met with Mr.Kjartan Kjartansson, mayor of Reykjanesbær, and exchanged views on friendship cities relations between Reykjanesbær and Xianyang, strengthening cooperation in tourism and other areas.
Mr. Kjartansson welcomed Ambassador Jin to visit Reykjanesbær. He briefly introduced the friendship city cooperation between Reykjanesbær and Xianyang since its establishment in 2014, as well as the latest economic and social development of the city. He wished that Reykjanesbær could furthur its cooperation with Xianyang and China at large with the support of the Chinese Embassy.
Ambassador Jin expressed his joy to see the twinning of Reykjanesbær and Xianyang and believed that the two sides could expand their exchanges and cooperation in education, culture and e-commerce, which would contribute to the further development of bilateral relations. The Embassy is willing to offer assistance and the Mayor is welcomed to visit China at his convenience.
Reykjanesbær is the fourth largest city in Iceland close to Reykjavik as a transportation hub of Iceland.
