On July 31, Ambassador He Rulong held a press briefing in the Embassy. Reporters from Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (RÚV), Stöð 2 Television, Visir.is, newspaper Viðskiptablaðið and Icelandic Times attended the event.

    In his speech, Ambassador He introduced the highlights of the development of bilateral relations between China and Iceland, and specially expounded on the global development initiative, global security initiative, and global civilization initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. During the Q&A session, he also answered the questions regarding "Belt and Road" initiative, bilateral economic cooperation and trade, and direct flights between China and Iceland and others.

    The briefing was very interactive and informative. The slideshow and the Chinese culture-related video clips prepared by the Embassy were also played. Several media requested additional one-on-one interviews with Ambassador He after the briefing. Participants were impressed with the style and the way the press briefings was organized, believing that it will help to enhance the Icelandic media's understanding of China's policies and national conditions.
