On June 2nd, Ambassador He Rulong met with Össur Skarphéðinsson, former Foreign Minister of Iceland and Chairman of Yutong Eurobus Scandinavia (YES).

Ambassador He spoke highly of Mr. Skarphéðinsson's contribution in promoting Iceland to be the first European country to sign a bilateral free trade agreement with China during his tenure as Iceland's foreign minister, and in promoting Yutong electric buses to land in Iceland to become a beautiful addition to Icelandic public transportation. Ambassador He expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Skarphéðinsson for his dedication in pushing forward the pragmatic cooperation in electric vehicles between China and Iceland.

Mr. Skarphéðinsson highly appreciated the sustained and rapid development of China's economy as well as its fruitful achievements in fields such as telecommunications and  electric vehicles, and expressed his willingness to continue the cooperation with China and the Chinese Embassy, with a view to introducing "Made in China" products to Iceland and the wider Europe, benefiting the peoples of China and Iceland.
