On November 29, 2021 local time, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo held talks with Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development Cooperation of Iceland. The two sides spoke positively of China-Iceland relations and said that both countries will make the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral ties a great success and take it as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in various fields and promote the further development of bilateral political relations. The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
