Ambassador Su Visits Actavis Group

At the Invitation of Mr. Sigurdur Olafsson, CEO of Actavis Group, Ambassador Su Ge paid a visit to its Headquarters in Reykjavik on 21 Decemeber 2009, and met with Mr. Olafsson and Deputy Mrs. Gudbjorg Eggertsdottir.

Mr. Olafsson gave briefings on the development of Actavis Group and its production worldwide.He expressed satisfaction with the Group's joint ventures both in Foshan and Hangzhou, China. Mr. Olafsson regarded China as a place with lots of opportunities, and expressed his confidence in expanding operations in China. Ambassador Su spoke of China's reform and opening-up policy.He wished Actavis greater achievements in cooperation with its Chinese partners. The Chinese Embassy would provide all necessary assistance for international cooperation.

With operations in over 40 countries and areas, Actavis is one of the world's leading players in the production and and marketing of generic pharmaceuticals.The Group in 2008 had around 11000 employees with a turnover of 1.6 billion euros.
