A ceremony was held to celebrate the republication of the Icelandic-version The Analects of Confucius at 5:30pm on Feb. 3rd at Husi Verslunarinnar in Reykjavik. Mr. Ragnar Baldursson, Counsellor of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, translated The Analects of Confucius and published it around 15 years ago, with a volume of 2000 copies. During the last several years, exchanges and cooperation between Iceland and China have been widening and deepening in various fields. Icelanders are more and more interested in the Chinese culture and society. To help Icelanders know more and better about China and the Chinese people, Mr. Baldursson made some modifications to the first edition of the Icelandic-version The Analects of Confucius and decided to reissue it. This time the volume is 3000 copies. Mr. Omar S. Gislason, Managing Director of PJAXI, is quite optimistic that the second edition will be welcome by Icelanders in different walks of life.

Mr. Baldursson studied in Beijing Foreign Languages Institute and Beijing University from 1976 to 1979. In Beijing University he majored in philosophy. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Baldursson worked in the Icelandic Embassy in China.
