The New Chinese Ambasador to Iceland Presents His Credentials to the President

HE Mr. Wang Xinshi, the new Chinese Ambassador to Iceland, presented his credentials to HE Mr. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, President of Iceland, at Bassastadir on January 18th, 2005. Ambassador Wang and his wife arrived in Iceland on January 7th, 2005. The President highly commented on the Sino-Icelandic bilateral relationship, taking it as a model of friendly cooperation between bigger and smaller countries. Ambassador Wang conveyed greetings from HE Mr. Hu Jintao, President of China, to the President. Ambassador Wang highly commented on achievements the Icelandic people have attained and appreciated the adherence of the Icelandic Government to the One-China policy. Ambassador Wang siad that the Chinese Government was glad with the good trend in development of Sino-Icelandic bilateral relations and would like to further promote and enlarge the friendly and mutually beneficial relations. After the ceremony of presenting credentials, President Grimsson hosted a welcoming reception for Ambassador Wang and his wife.
