|Concert of Thula Folk Music Group Takes place at the Chinese Embassy in Iceland|
On July 19th, the Chinese Embassy in Iceland and Icelandic Chinese Cultural Society (ICCS) co-hosted the Concert of Thula Folk Music Group at the embassy. Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian and his wife Madame He Linyun, Chairwoman of ICCS Guðrún Þrastardóttir and more than 100 guests from all sectors of Iceland attended the concert.
In his remarks before the concert, Ambassador Jin warmly welcomed Thula to present Icelandic folk music at the Chinese Embassy. He spoke highly of the important role played by the cultural exchanges in the development of China-Iceland relations, and expressed appreciation to ICCS for their long-term contribution to promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. Ambassador Jin wished a great success with the upcoming performance of Thula at the 2018 Tianjin International Art Festival in China.
Chairwoman Þrastardóttir expressed her appreciation to the Chinese Embassy to co-host the concert with full support. She believed Thula would return from China with fruitful results, which would bridge the young people of China and Iceland.
The concert featured a lot of highlights. Eight young students presented the audience with instrumental music, traditional folk songs and dances that praised Iceland's natural scenery and customs, which have inspired all audience at scene. The group interacted frequently with the audience. The applause and cheers continued, and the atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic. The audience gave high remarks over the performance, and expressed heartfelt thanks for the embassy to hold the concert.
