Mr. Luo Huining Visits Iceland

From 12-14 May 2016, a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) headed by Mr. Luo Huining, Member of Central Committee of the CPC and Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee, visited Iceland. The delegation met respectively with Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, President of Iceland, and Mr. Stefán Haukur Jóhannesson, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland. The two sides exchanged views on China-Iceland relations and cooperation.

Mr. Luo spoke highly of China-Iceland relations and said the Chinese side is willing to maintain bilateral high level exchanges, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, thus further facilitate the development of bilateral relations. Mr. Grímsson said that Iceland-China relations have become a model of big and small countries respecting each other and treating each other on equal basis, and he is willing to continue his efforts for Iceland-China friendship. Mr. Jóhannesson said that Iceland-China relations have been developing smoothly and pragmatic cooperation has been fruitful. He hoped that both sides would jointly further deepen cooperation.

Ambassador of China to Iceland H.E. Mr. Zhang Weidong attended the aforementioned meetings.
