Chinese Ambassador to Iceland Jin Zhijian delivers a speech at the Seminar on Energy Cooperation between Iceland and China

On May 29th, Ambassador Jin Zhijian was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the Seminar on Energy Cooperation between Iceland and China hosted by the Icelandic Chinese Trade Council(ICTC).

In his speech, Ambassador Jin pointed out that energy cooperation has been an important field of cooperation between China and Iceland. The cooperation between the two countries in geothermal energy development and utilization has lasted for decades with fruitful results, which has become a highlight in the bilateral relations. In the face of challenges of global climate change, the cooperation between China and Iceland in the field of energy is of great significance. The Chinese government attaches great importance to the construction of ecological civilization and has been implementing the green development strategy in an all-round way, which provides new opportunities for the two countries to expand their cooperation in the field of energy. Ambassador Jin put forward some suggestions on deepening energy cooperation, and introduced the facts of the trade dispute between China and the United States, and elaborated China's related position.

Representatives from the Icelandic Geothermal survey Institute, UNUGTP & University of Iceland and Arctic Green Energy Company briefed the geothermal resources of China, Geothermal energy cooperation between Iceland and China respectively. Over 30 people of ICTC members and industry representatives attended the event.
