Foreign Ministry Spokesperson's Remarks

Welcome to the website of the Embassy of China in Iceland.

There are thousands of miles in distance from China to Iceland and there exist differences on national circumstances, culture and history, but the peoples of China and Iceland share traditional friendship. Ever since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1971, Sino-Icelandic relations have developed constantly and steadily. Contacts of various levels have been even closer. People to people exchanges have been increased. There is a variety of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, Arctic affairs, just mention a few. The fruitful cooperation has brought benefits to both countries and peoples. With the implementation of China-Iceland Free Trade Agreement on 1st July 2014, our bilateral relations have entered a new era and the friendly cooperation has a bright prospect.

China values highly of Sino-Icelandic relations. The Embassy of China in Iceland will continue to devote itself in promoting our win-win and pragmatic cooperation in various fields and work together with the Icelandic government and people to push forward the bilateral relations to a new stage. Meanwhile, the Embassy will try to provide the best service to the Chinese citizens, overseas Chinese, including those doing business and studying in Iceland. I wish this website could serve as a window for enhancing mutual understanding between our two peoples, and for deepening friendly cooperation. Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.
